Mikko A. Uusitalo

Mikko Uusitalo is Head of Research Department Radio Systems Research Finland at Nokia Bell Labs. Mikko is leading the European 6G Flagship projects Hexa-X and Hexa-X-II. He obtained a M.Sc. (Eng.) and Dr.Tech. in 1993 and 1997 and a B.Sc. (Economics) in 2003, all from predecessors of Aalto University. Mikko has been at Nokia since 2000 with various roles, including Principal Researcher and Head of International Cooperation at Nokia Research. Mikko is a founding member of the CELTIC EUREKA and WWRF, the latter one he chaired for 2004-2006. Mikko is a WWRF Fellow.
Patrik Rugeland

Patrik Rugeland is a master researcher at Ericsson Research, Stockholm Sweden. Patrik is the technical manager of the Hexa-X-II project and was the technical manager for the Hexa-X project during 2021-2022. He obtain a M.Sc. in engineering physics in 2009 and Ph.D. in applied physics in 2013 from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden. In 2014 he joined the Wireless Access Network department at Ericsson Research, Stockholm and has since been working on standardization and concept development for LTE-Advanced, NR, and 6G with a focus on radio network architecture and protocols. and he currently holds more than 85 patents in the area.
Bernard Barani

Bernard Barani joined the European Commission (EC) in 1994 after 11 years as Communication engineer in industry and with ESA. In the EC, he has been steering EU wireless R&I for more than 20 years and currently leads the definition and implementation of the European R&I programme “Smart Networks and Services (6G)” including standardisation, international cooperation, demonstration and pilot programmes.
He has an engineering degree from the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Bretagne” , is vice chairman of the Steering committee of the EUCNC conference, and Fellow of WWRF (Wireless World Research Forum).
Prof. Serge Fdida

Serge Fdida is a Professor with Sorbonne Université (formally with UPMC) since 1995. His research interests are related to the future internet technology and architecture. He has been leading many research projects in Future Networking in France and Europe, notably pioneering the European activity on federated Internet testbeds. He is currently leading the Equipex FIT, a large-scale testbed on the Future Internet of Things. Serge Fdida has published numerous scientific papers, in addition to several patents and one rfc. He is a Distinguished ACM Member and an IEEE Senior member. He was one of the founders of the ACM Conext conference, general chair of ACM Mobicom 2015 and IEEE Infocom 2019. Serge Fdida has also developed a strong experience related to innovation and industry transfer, – he was the co-founder of the Qosmos company, – one of the active contributors to the creation of the Cap Digital cluster in Paris, and currently the President of the EIT Health French community. He held various community and management responsibilities in various organizations including Sorbonne Université and CNRS. Serge Fdida is Vice President for International Development of Sorbonne University.
