Peter Kairouz is a researcher interested in machine learning, security, and privacy. At Google, he is a Research Scientist working on decentralized and privacy-preserving machine learning algorithms. Prior to Google, his doctoral and postdoctoral research have largely focused on building decentralized technologies for anonymous broadcasting over complex networks, understanding the fundamental trade-off between data privacy and utility, and leveraging state-of-the-art deep generative models for data-driven privacy. Giovanni Neglia

Giovanni Neglia is a Researcher at Inria. His research interests include performance evaluation of distributed systems, in particular cache networks and large-scale learning systems. His research is characterized by the application of different mathematical tools (Markov processes, control theory, continuous optimization, fluid models, game theory). 

Anne-Marie Kermarrec

Anne-Marie Kermarrec (CV) is Professor at EPFL  since January 2020. Before that she was the CEO of the Mediego startup that she founded in April 2015. Mediego provides content personalization services for online publishers. She was a Research Director at Inria, France from 2004 to 2015. She got a Ph.D. thesis from University of Rennes (France), and has been with Vrije Universiteit, NL and Microsoft Research Cambridge, UK. Anne-Marie received an ERC grant in 2008 and an ERC Proof of Concept in 2013. She received the Montpetit Award in 2011 and the Innovation Award in 2017 from the French Academy of Science. She has been elected to the European Academy in 2013 and named ACM Fellow in 2016. Her research interests are in large-scale distributed systems,  epidemic algorithms,  peer to peer networks and system support for machine learning.
 

My research focuses on the design, analysis, and implementation of networked and distributed systems, with an emphasis on network virtualization, routing, network algorithms, systems security, and cloud services. I like taking a multi-pronged approach to system design, building systems that work well in practice but are grounded in strong theoretical principles. My recent work involves network security, network verification, and Internet of Things.
